FLYERS INK FORMER PEMBINA VALLEY HAWKS' CAPTAIN BRETT HARDER - JUNE 5

There are three numbers hanging in the rafters of the Winkler Recreation Complex, one of them being Steve Harder's #7 and this afternoon Associate Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Ernie Sutherland announced that Brett Harder (90), the son of the Flyers' former scoring star, will suit up with the Orange and Black this fall.

Brett, a Winkler native, won a Provincial AAA/AAAA High School Hockey Championship with the GVC Zodiacs squad that also included current Flyers Jordan Peters and Jayme Janzen in 2005/2006 before joining the Pembina Valley Hawks of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League for the past two seasons.

After collecting 36 points in 38 games in his rookie campaign with the Hawks, the 6'0" 165 pound forward tallied 19 goals and 23 assists in 40 regular season contests as their Captain last year, which led to him being named the club's Most Valuable Player. He then added four goals and five assists in 11 post-season games as he helped lead Pembina Valley to the league championship series.
