25 years ago, the 1997-98 Winkler Flyers were the MJHL Champions. And 25 years later we will get the team that last hoisted the cup in Winkler back together for a fun game!
On March 11th at 3pm at the Centennial Arena, the 97-98 Flyers will take on a team made up of alumni from other years in the Winkler Flyers history.
We will also be doing a 50/50 draw, where the Flyers 50 will go straight to the Evan Thomas Memorial Trust.

The Evan Thomas Memorial Trust was created in 2018 to celebrate the life of a wonderful person, academic and athlete. We want to continue his legacy by leveraging donations into a significant outcome that can benefit many of the Charities that Evan would have supported. We also choose to support Charities that benefit the members of the Humboldt Broncos 2016-17 Hockey club that continue to struggle in some way because of the tragic accident that will affect the rest of their lives. We also want to ensure the 3 Scholarships that exist in Evan’s name are funded perpetually so worthy Students will benefit from Evan’s life.
Evan was a member of the Humboldt Broncos who passed away in the bus crash. He was the nephew of Curt and Chris Thomas (former Flyers) and cousin of Kam Thomas (Winkler Flyers Auto Prospect)
