ELIAS WOODWORK – WINKLER FLYERS PROSPECT WATCH – COLE MACKENZIE

COLE MACKENZIE (02) | DEFENSE | THUNDER BAY KINGS (NAPHL 18U)

HOMETOWN: Thunder Bay, Ontario

Height: 6’4” | Weight: 210lbs |

SCOUTS COMMENTS:

We are thrilled to have Cole Mackenzie committed to the Winkler Flyers for the 2020-2021 season. The growth in his overall game from the end of last season until now has been exponential. Cole is a big, physical defenseman and uses his 6’4” frame effectively to defend. He moves the puck efficiently and can provide offence from the backend. Cole will be a great addition to the Flyers and has a tremendous amount of upside. Cole had 13 points (2 Goals – 11 Assists) in 20 games played with the Thunder Bay Kings this past season and recently signed his letter of intent to play for the Flyers next season.

“In Thunder Bay’s Cole Mackenzie, the Flyers have taken a great step to fortify their blue line. With his size and aggressiveness with which he plays the game, he will bring a physical presence that will really benefit the team. I expect over time that his leadership qualities will emerge just like they have in Thunder Bay.” – Thunder Bay Kings Coach Darrin Nicholas.

The Elias Woodwork – Winkler Flyers Prospect Watch will be posted each week and will feature one up and coming prospect in the Flyers system. The Flyers wish the best of luck to Cole and look forward to seeing him in an Orange and Black uniform next season.
