Falk Accepted Into Hockey Canada Skills Certification Program

Selected by the Athlete Development Committee, Hockey Canada has announced the delegates for the 2021 Hockey Canada Skills Certification Program.   Taking place annually, the purpose of this seminar is to provide opportunity for high performance skills coaches from across Canada to be exposed to the very best national and international skills experts, and to achieve certification in the NCCP Instructional Stream as a Hockey Canada Skills Coach.

The program carries a primary emphasis on the specialized areas of skating, puck skills, developing defencemen, shooting, scoring and game application.  Combining board room, on ice sessions and various workshops, Skills Coaches from across Canada network and combine resources to expand development opportunities

The evolution of skating and skill growth, allow for expanded player development, primarily at the youth and junior aged levels.  Through continued education and building through the exposure to 15 years of Junior and Professional Coaches in their respective fields, Justin is excited for the opportunity to share his knowledge through the JPS – J. Performance Systems platform and many Hockey School, Camp attendees and Players that come through the Winkler Flyers program.

“Seeing and experiencing the personal growth necessary during my Junior career made this an appealing program to apply for.  I am excited for the opportunity of expanded networking and education in the skill development field and incorporating this into the day to day operations of our organization.  The characteristics of teaching and development of these specific skills, in relation to situational and positional play, will make for exciting potential growth of our players individually, and collectively as a whole.” added Winkler Flyers Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach, Justin Falk.
