This week, Head Coach and General Manager Justin Falk welcomed the newest product, when forward Logan Fillion(2004) signed a letter of intent to lace his skates up with the Flyers this fall.
Fillion who is from St. Jean Baptiste Manitoba has scored seven goals, while adding eleven assists in twenty-eight games played this year with the Pembina Valley Hawks of the Manitoba U18 AAA League.
U18 AAA level in Manitoba, and hopes this is just the first step in playing for the Orange and Black.
“Ever since I got picked up by this team, I played pre-season here this year. I knew this was the place I wanted to be. I love the group of guys, I love the environment, I love everything here.”
For Falk, the opportunity to add such a hard-working and gritty forward such as Fillion to his line-up was a no-brainer.
“Logan will bring an added edge to our Forward group. Playing a North South physical tenacious game, our staff is looking forward to the opportunity to develop and evolve Logan’s game. Our experiences and communication thus far with Logan have given us the confidence that Logan understands the challenge in the transition from Midget to Junior’s and what will make himself an impactful and successful part of the Flyers Organization for many years to come. Logan has earned this opportunity and we are excited to see him continue his hard work with the Pembina Valley Hawks this season.”
Flyers Director of player personnel Riley Dudar is a big fan of Fillion’s style of play.
“Logan Fillion is a big player who loves to hit and hit hard. He plays mean, is competitive, and can fill a number of positions up and down the lineup while putting up points and creating opportunities for teammates. He will be a welcomed addition to the team and plays a style that will help us win.”
The Winkler Flyers are excited to have such a talented forward commit to our program, and look forward to seeing him in Orange and Black!
