The Winkler Flyers have completed a trade that will see them acquire 2005 Forward Ethan MacTavish from the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL in exchange for a Player Development Fee.
MacTavish scored 1 goal and 2 assists in the 2023-24 season with the Canadians.
GM & Head Coach Justin Falk and staff had this to say about the team’s latest acquisition. “Graduating some players from last season we wanted to ensure that our forward group contained some size within our Flyers identity along with Junior A experience. Through conversation with Ethan he has a clear understanding of his role and what he wants to provide to the club. His work ethic and compete level is very high and we believe there is another level offensively that Ethan can get to with the right opportunity and development here in Winkler.”
Assistant GM/Assistant Coach Coltyn Bates added, "Being able to add a player like Ethan is always exciting. Especially at this time of the year giving us a few extra months to build a relationship with him and his family. Ethan is a big strong power forward who works relentlessly and will fit our identity perfectly. Adding an older forward with some experience was important for us heading into next season. We are excited to welcome Ethan and his family to our community in Winkler."
The entire Flyers organization would like to welcome Ethan and the MacTavish family to the community of Winkler.
