FLYERS ADD PLAY MAKING FORWARD IN LUCIA – JULY 7

The Winkler Flyers are pleased to announce the signing of 18 year old forward Gino Lucia (98) for the 2016-2017 season. The St. Cloud, Minnesota native recorded 51 points (18 goals – 33 assists) in 25 games last season with the Apollo Screaming Eagles of the Minnesota High School Hockey League.

“Gino is a kid that we have been recruiting since November, and we are very excited to have him here for next season,” said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

“He showed very well at the NIT Showcase in Plymouth, Minnesota and had a lot of other options, but chose to come to Winkler,” added Pearson.

Lucia is a skilled play maker and stands 5’11”, and weighs 175lbs. In three seasons of High School Hockey in Minnesota, he recorded 101 points in 90 regular season games played.

The Flyers would like to officially welcome Gino and his family to the Flyers organization and look forward to seeing him on the ice in the fall.
