FLYERS ADD TANNER LEWIS BEFORE ROSTER DEADLINE – NOVEMBER 30

The Winkler Flyers have added some more veteran leadership with the acquisition of forward Tanner Lewis (96) from the Virden Oil Capitals. The Virden, Manitoba native was in his third season with the Oil Caps and recorded seven points (2 goals – 5 assists) in 20 games played this year.

“Tanner is a smart, honest hockey player with good character,” said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

“He will be a great addition for us both on the ice and in the dressing room” added Pearson.

The 6’0”, 171lbs right hand shooting forward was in his third season with the Oil Caps. In 134 regular season games in Virden, he recorded 51 points (20 goals – 31 assists) and 70 penalty minutes. He will provide tremendous depth and leadership to the Flyers moving forward.

Tanner is the son of former Flyer Dale Lewis who played for the Orange and Black in the late 1980’s. The Flyers sent future considerations to the Oil Capitals in the trade.

The Flyers would like to welcome Tanner and his family to the Flyers organization and look forward to seeing him on the ice this weekend.
