FLYERS BRING BACK LINDSTROM – JULY 6

The Winkler Flyers have acquired defenseman Tyler Lindstrom (96) from the Minnesota Iron Rangers (SIJHL) for a Player Development Fee (PDF). Lindstrom played 14 games with the Flyers last season before being sent back home to Minnesota midway through the 2015-2016 season.

The 6’1”, 192lbs product of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, plays a gritty brand of hockey and will have a role to play on the Flyers’ veteran laden blue line. He scored one goal in 14 games played with Winkler last season. After being traded to Minnesota in November of 2015, Lindstrom recorded 17 points (11 goals – 6 assists) in 26 regular season games played. He also recorded a point per game in the playoffs.

“We are happy to have Tyler back in Winkler,” said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

“He adds a toughness and size that every team needs on the back end, and we feel good already knowing what he can bring to our group,” added Pearson.

The Flyers would like to welcome Tyler and his family back to the Flyers organization and look forward to seeing him in the fall.
