Flyers @ Freeze – Oct 22, 2021 GAME SUMMARY

Pre Game Report

GAME RECAP – Coming Soon

It was a flat footed start to the first period for the Orange and Black as the Freeze came out working hard. An easy tap in for Yakubowski put Winnipeg up 1-0 early. The feet started to work after that for the Flyers after two point shots from Sambrook, McCarthy tipped home the tying goal. 1-1 after 1 period with shots favoring the Freeze at 15-11.

The legs got going in the second as the pace picked up for both teams. A bit of penalty trouble halfway through the period saw the Flyers go down 2 men and with strong goaltending and stellar Defense the penalties were killed. Shortly after the kill Brody Beauchemin tapped one in an empty net to put the Flyers up 2-1. Then it was the Flyers turn to try the Powerplay, lots of puck movement but not many shots and we weren’t able to capitalize. With just over 2 minutes left in the period Mike Svenson buried a beauty to put the Flyers up 3-1 after 2 periods. Shots are now 31-25 in favor of the Flyers.

Not much doing in the third period as both teams tried to keep things moving. It was a fiesty third as well as there were a number of scrums after whistles. You love to see the passion. Only one goal this period as Josh Beauchemin slid the puck the length of the ice to put the Flyers up 4-1 with less than a minute in the third. Final shots are 39-36 in favor of the Freeze.
