Pre Game Report

Game Recap

It was a fast paced start for the Orange and Black in Steinbach, and helped them get 4 powerplays to start the game. The boys couldn’t capitalize on them, and the period ended at a 0-0 tie.

More power plays to start the second period for the Flyers, Harkness and the penalty killers for Steinbach were strong and the Orange guys couldn’t get one past them. From Power plays to penalty trouble for the good guys, lots of special team action in this game. Flyers continued to look like the more aggressive team in the second period, however they had to kill of a 5 minute penalty because of it. It all happened quick near the end of the second with the Pistons putting 2 quick goals past Meilun. The home team added a third at the end of the period and things were looking bleak, 3-0 Steinbach headed into the final frame.

The Orange and Black started the third period strong, but, the Pistons snuck another one in to go up 4-0 early in the period. Orange guys continued to fight looking to get on the board but Harkness continued to stand strong and keep the boys off the board. More penalty trouble left the Flyers with a 5 on 3 penalty kill which the Pistons jumped all over and went up 5-0. That’s how things ended in Steinbach tonight.

Final shots in the game were 36 Steinbach and 23 Flyers.
