FLYERS SIGN BEMIDJI STATE COMMIT TYLER JUBENVILL

The Winkler Flyers are pleased to announce the signing of Defenseman Tyler Jubenvill (99) for the 2015-16 season. The Gilbert Plains, Manitoba product, who turns 16 this November, recently committed to play for the Bemidji State University Beavers (NCAA Div. 1) at the completion of Junior Hockey.

Jubenvill recorded 29 points (8 goals – 21 assists) in 30 regular season game played with the Parkland Rangers of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League this past season. Jubenvill was a first round selection (third overall) of the Flyers in the 2014 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Bantam Draft. He stands 5’11” tall and weighs 180lbs.

This month, the 15 year old committed to play for the Bemidji State University Beavers (NCAA Div. I) at the completion of his Junior hockey career after one season of Midget hockey.

“We are very excited to bring a player of his caliber into our organization,” said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

“His visibility and hockey sense will help him to be able to contribute immediately, and the fact that he’s already committed to an NCAA Div I school at 15 shows the potential that Tyler has.” Added Pearson.

The Flyers would like to officially welcome Tyler and his family to the Flyers organization and look forward to seeing him in an Orange and Black uniform in September. The Flyers would also like to congratulate Tyler for his commitment to Bemidji State.
