FLYERS SIGN FORMER HAWKS FORWARD JEFF MICHIELS

The Winkler Flyers have signed forward Jeff Michiels (96) for the upcoming season. The Holland, Manitoba native becomes the first player signed ahead of the 2014-2015 season.

“I’m very excited to be a part of this organization and am looking forward to next season.” Said Michiels.

Michiels played in four regular season games with the Flyers last season as an “AP”, scoring a goal and adding an assist. In 43 games played with the Pembina Valley Hawks of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League, Michiels recorded 29 points (15 goals – 14 assists) to go along with 18 penalty minutes in 2013-2014. Michiels is 6’0” and weighs 165lbs.

“Jeff is a very hard working player who will provide great depth up front,” said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

“When he played for us last season, he didn’t look out of place at all and I’m excited for what he can do here next season.” Added Pearson.

The Flyers would like to welcome Jeff and his family to the Flyers organization.
