FLYERS WELCOME BACK FORWARD ERIC FAWKES – DECEMBER 5

The Winkler Flyers are pleased to announce that 18 year old forward Eric Fawkes (01) will be rejoining the Orange and Black this season. The Winnipeg native led the Flyers in both goals and assists last year and was the co-winner of the club’s Rookie of the Year Award.

Fawkes (6’3” |196lbs) recorded 38 points (15 Goals – 23 Assists) during his rookie season in 2018-2019 and also led the Flyers with 12 points on the power-play. He was named the co-winner of the Flyers’ Rookie of the Year Award and represented the Orange and Black at the MJHL/SJHL Showcase in Regina in 2019.

“We are very happy to have Eric back with the club,” said Flyers General Manager Jeff Jeanson.

“To be able to add a player with his skill set to our group will be a big asset”, added Jeanson.

Fawkes will be joining a club that already sits near the top of the league in goals scored and features two of the top seven goal scorers in the MJHL (Sulivan Shortreed – 18 | Jayden McCarthy – 17)

Fawkes started the 2019-2020 season with the Minnesota Wilderness (NAHL) where he recorded six points (3 Goals – 3 Assists) in 20 games played. He also committed to RPI (Rensselaer Polytech Institute | NCAA ECAC Div I) early last season.

Fawkes will wear #10.
