The Orange and Black have added a pair of gritty forwards as the club gets ready for a busy weekend of hockey. The Flyers have added forwards Brayden Cullum (96) and Brett Opperman (97) which brings the number of active players on the roster to 25.
Both players suited up last season with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines. Cullum, is a 5’10”, 175lbs forward from Russell, Manitoba who recorded 22 points ( 9 Goals – 13 Assists) in 46 games played with the Wolverines in 2015-2016. Over the past two seasons with Wayway and OCN, Cullum also recorded 156 penalty minutes.
Opperman, is a 6’0”, 175lbs forward from Killarney, Manitoba and had 11 points (4 Goals – 7 Assists) in 51 games played last season. He also accounted for 54 minutes in penalties.
“Both Brayden and Brett will be great additions to our forward group and will provide that sand paper we need,” says Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.
“We are trying to become a team that is hard to play against and these two guys will really help us with that,” added Pearson.
The Flyers would like to welcome Brayden, Brett and their families to the Flyers organization and look forward to seeing their in an Orange and Black uniform.
Winkler will travel up north on the weekend to face off against the Dauphin Kings and OCN Blizzard on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All three road games on the weekend will be heard live on Country 88.9FM and online at www.peminavalleyonline.com.
