On Kerry Wilson, Emergency Services Night, the Winkler Flyers earned a 3-2 shootout victory over the Neepawa Titans on Tuesday night, extending their win streak to eight games and continuing their strong start to the new year.
After a quiet, scoreless opening period, Nicholas McKee opened the scoring early in the second frame with a power-play goal, assisted by Isaiah Peters and Blake Matheson. The Titans responded late in the period, sending the game into the third tied at 1-1.
In the final frame, the Flyers regained the lead with another power-play goal from defenseman Max Lavoie, with assists from Jayce Legaarden and Brody Beauchemin. Neepawa answered back a few minutes later, tying the game once again and eventually forcing overtime.
Neither team could capitalize on their chances in the extra frame, leading to a shootout. Nicholas McKee and Niklas Gudmundson found the back of the net, while goaltender Leif Ekblad stopped both Neepawa attempts to secure the win.

The Flyers will aim to keep their streak alive as they continue their road schedule later this week.
