MARIT COMMITS TO CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WISCONSIN

Graduating Winkler Flyers forward Travis Marit has committed to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons (NCAA Div III) for the 2014-2015 season. The Assiniboia, Saskatachewan native lead the Flyers in points last season with 42 points in 56 games played.

After joining the Flyers early in the 2013-2014 season, Marit proved to be a very important player for the Orange and Black using his 6’3” frame to his advantage while being a consistent contributor on the score sheet.

He wracked up 42 points (20 goals – 22 assists) in 56 games played and added 58 penalty minutes. He was also named the Co-MVP of the Flyers this past season.

“Travis was great on and off the ice for us and will be someone who will be missed both in the community and in our locker room.” Said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

The Falcons play in the NCHA in NCAA Div III Men’s Hockey and are based out of Mequon, Wisconsin.

The Flyers would like to wish Travis all the best at Concordia and applaud him for his decision to continue his hockey career and education with the Falcons.
