MARTYNIUK NAMED TOP GOALTENDER AND ALL-STAR / DYCK AN ALL-STAR TOO – FEBRUARY 26

Winkler Flyers netminder Troy Martyniuk has won the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Top Goaltender Award and has also been named to the MJHL’s Second All-Star Team. Defenseman Mitch Dyck, who was one of the three finalists for the league’s Top Defenseman Award, joins Martyniuk on the Second All-Star Team.

The MJHL announced their year end award winners and all-star teams on Sunday, and a pair of Flyers were recognized for their outstanding seasons. Martyniuk, who was also in the running for the MJHL Most Valuable Player Award, leads all goaltenders in wins and minutes played. Dyck has been rock solid on the Flyers’ blueline this season and leads all Winkler defenseman in goals, points and minutes played.

These awards, as well as the Winkler Flyers individual team awards will be announced during a special pregame ceremony on Friday, March 2nd when the Flyers host the Steinbach Pistons in their regular season finale.
