MJHL RELEASES 2014-2015 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

The Winkler Flyers will host the Steinbach Pistons on Friday, September 19th to open up the 2014-15 Manitoba Junior Hockey League regular season. The MJHL schedule has been released, which will see a balanced 60 game schedule with no divisions.

The Flyers will begin the 2014-15 campaign with a home and home series against the Steinbach Pistons. Winkler will start the season at home on Friday, September 19th with the two teams heading to Steinbach on Saturday, September 20th.

With the league moving to one division and a balanced schedule for the upcoming season, the Flyers will play six games (three home and three away) against the 10 other teams in the league. The Orange and Black will play the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and the OCN Blizzard at the MJHL Showcase weekend on October 3rd to 4th at the MTS Iceplex in Winnipeg.

Winkler will have three Sunday afternoon matinee home games (Nov 2 vs Wayway, Nov 30 vs Virden, Feb 1 vs Virden). The Flyers will play in Steinbach on December 20th in their final game before the Christmas break and will return to host the Pistons on New Year’s Eve in their first game after the break.

With the City of Winkler hosting the Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts Curling Championship in January, the Flyers will play only two home games during that month. The regular season will end on Tuesday, March 3rd in Selkirk.

Winkler will be entering their 34th season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League and are looking forward to a competitive season with a large number of returning players and many exciting new recruits expected to compete for roster spots when Main Camp opens on August 27th.

The Flyers will release their season ticket information in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for early bird discounts and other promotions as the 2014-15 season draws closer.
