NATHAN WARREN COMMITS TO PORTAGE COLLEGE – JULY 27

Goaltender Nathan Warren has become the seventh member of the Winkler Flyers to commit to a College Hockey program. The Prince George, BC native will suite up for the Portage College Voyageurs (ACAC) next season.

Warren joined the Flyers in November of last season and backstopped the club down the stretch and was outstanding in the post-season, leading to him being named the Flyers’ Playoff MVP. The 21-year old spent the last 2 seasons playing Junior A hockey for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL, the Soo T-Birds of the NOJHL, and the Winkler Flyers of the MJHL.

Warren will bring the Voyageurs’ program excellent stability in goal and will enter the college’s Natural Resource Technology program. The Flyers congratulate Nathan for his decision to continue his hockey career at Portage College, and wish him and the Voyageurs all the best this season.

Warren becomes the seventh member of the Flyers to make a college commitment this year, joining Thomas Mansbridge (Neumann University – NCAA Div III), Zak Hicks (Red Deer College – ACAC), Tristan Keck (University of Nebraska-Omaha – NCAA Div I), Tyler Jubenvill (Bemidji State – NCAA Div I), Jordan Williamson (Curry College – NCAA Div III) and Kurt Sonne (Northland College – NCAA Div III).
