The Winkler Flyers played host the Niverville Nighthawks for Game 2 of their first round matchup Monday night.

Niverville opened the scoring early in the first and added a shorthanded goal midway through the second to take a 2-0 lead.
The Flyers responded late in the second period, as rookie Graeme Pickering buried his first of the postseason at 18:14. Niklas Gudmundson picked up the assist on the play to cut the deficit to one heading into the third.
Winkler pushed in the final frame, outshooting Niverville 9-4 in the period and 25-22 overall, but couldn’t find the equalizer.

The Flyers had their chances on special teams but went 0-for-3 on the power play, while also killing off all four Niverville opportunities.
