SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED FOR FLYERS 40TH SEASON IN MJHL – JUNE 20

The Winkler Flyers will begin their 40th season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in Steinbach on Friday, September 20th. The MJHL released their 2019-2020 schedule on Thursday which will see each club play 60 regular season games (29 home and 29 away), as well as two games at the MJHL Showcase at the Seven Oaks Arena in Winnipeg.

After starting the regular season in Steinbach on September 20th, the Orange and Black will host the Pistons on Saturday, September 21st in their home opener. The date of the MJHL Showcase has been moved to earlier in the season where the Flyers will play the Portage Terriers and Neepawa Natives on September 30th and October 1st at the Seven Oaks Arena in Winnipeg.

The Flyers regular season will conclude on February 29th when they host the Selkirk Steelers to end a season ending four game homestand. The Flyers 2019-2020 roster will consist of a good mix of veteran leadership and a group of talented young players and will be guided by first year Head Coach Kelvin Cech. The club is focused on rebounding from the 2018-2019 season which saw the Orange and Black miss the playoffs for the first time since their inaugural season in 1980-1981.

Season ticket information will become available in the coming weeks. Many events and promotions are being planned to celebrate the Flyers 40th season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Stay tuned to www.winklerflyers.com as well as the Flyers’ social media accounts for more information.
