The Winkler Flyers have announced the signing of two more players for the upcoming season, inking forwards Jordy Stallard (97) and Tristan Salasse (96) for the 2014-15 season. The Orange and Black also officially welcomed Winkler natives’ Owen Wiebe and Griffin Dyck, who were their two auto-protects this year.
Jordy Stallard was a league All-Star last season with the Brandon Wheat Kings, finishing second overall in league scoring in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. In 44 regular season games played, the 6’2”, 175lbs centre recorded 76 points (28 goals – 48 assists) and 22 penalty minutes. The Brandon product was the fourth overall selection of the Swan Valley Stampeders in the 2012 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Bantam draft. The Flyers acquired his rights in the January, 2013 trade involving Jordan Neduzak.
Forward Tristan Salesse led the Kenora Thistles AAA Midgets in scoring in 2013-14 with 34 points (20 goals – 14 assists) in 41 games played. The 5’10”, 175lbs Terrace Bay, Ontario native also had six points in four playoff games last season.
