Meet Sydney Dyck, Flyers Head of Game Day Operations

The Winkler Flyers are pleased to announce the hiring of Sydney Dyck as the team’s new Head of Game Day Operations.

Sydney brings a long history with the Flyers organization to the team’s 41st season, including time spent coordinating the popular 7th skater program that sees a young minor hockey player line up on the blue line for the national anthem.

“Growing up around the rink in Winkler was great,” she said. “Half the time spent figure skating and the other half spent cheering on the Winkler Flyers was a huge part of my childhood and has carried on. I can’t wait to get started.”

Sydney is also a skating instructor with the Winkler Skating Club, and counts powerskating and learn-to-skate instruction as one of her many talents.

“I’ve grown up watching this team and have  slowly become more and more involved over the years. It started out just selling 50/50 in the stands as a kid with my dad to starting the 7th skater program and getting the players involved with the Winkler  Skating Club. I’m really looking forward to taking on this role and being so much more involved in this team I’ve grown up supporting. We have such a strong hockey community and I am excited to bring new and fresh ideas to the table and make it the best experience for our community and for our fans.”

“The Winkler Flyers organization is very happy to welcome Sydney Dyck to our team,” said Jeff Jeanson, Flyers General Manager.

“Sydney has a lot of energy and passion and she’s going to bring a lot of new and exciting ideas to the game day experience for the Flyers and our fans. Her experience in the community is a valuable asset to the club, and I’m looking forward to working along side Sydney this up coming season.”
