Program Manager and Head Instructor – Winkler Flyers Head Coach Kelvin Cech has nearly 20 years of experience as a Head Instructor and Program Manager of Hockey Schools across Western Canada. Cech has run camps for the the University of British Columbia - Spring Break and Summer Hockey Schools, West Coast Prep Camp, the North Shore Winter Club, as well as the Donnan Hockey Academy, St. Thomas More Hockey Academy and Canlan Ice Sports in Edmonton.
WHAT IS OFFERED
The Winkler Flyer Hockey School offers instruction for improvement on the basics of hockey. Skating, shooting, passing, puck handling as well as some body contact instruction (for the appropriate ages) are all skills that will be covered, in addition to many others. We will also run age appropriate dryland sessions during the day as well as a ‘Team-Sport’ session.
WHAT DO I NEED?
To participate in the on ice session at the Winkler Flyers Hockey School, athletes are required to have all necessary hockey equipment. For dryland, a good pair of running shoes and athletic clothing should be worn. The Hockey School will provide allergen free snacks to all participants. Athletes are required to provide their own lunch.
SCHEDULE
The Winkler Flyers Hockey School schedule is based off of total number of registrants. We anticipate that we will be able to form and release a schedule by mid-July. Younger players are scheduled to start first with older age groups being the last groups to begin their days.
