Isaac Deveau wasted no time putting Winkler on the board, striking just 15 seconds into the opening frame. Brody Beauchemin extended the lead with his 19th of the season. Jacob Michelson buried another to send the Flyers into the first intermission with a commanding 3-0 advantage.
The Flyers did not take their foot off the gas in the second as Blake Matheson cashed in on the power play, followed by Beauchemin’s second of the game, widening the gap even further. Isaiah Peters and Marcus Hughes (his first in a Flyers sweater) added insurance markers in the third, sealing the Flyers’ dominant performance.
Winkler controlled the pace from start to finish, outshooting Winnipeg 28-14 and smothering any attempts at a pushback.
With the victory, Winkler remains atop the MJHL standings with a 32-6-3 record, holding a four-point lead over both Portage and Steinbach while boasting the league’s best win percentage (.817). The Flyers will be back on home ice on Friday, February 7, matching up against the Winnipeg Freeze.
