WINKLER FLYERS TOP 10 GAMES ON HOCKEY TV – MARCH 24

With the shut down of the 2019-2020 hockey season due to the COVID-19 virus, Hockey TV has announced that all previously played games can be viewed for free, On Demand on www.hockeytv.com.

While you are practicing safe Social Distancing and are spending a lot more time at home, we have come up with the Top 10 games of the 2019-2020 season that are worth another look.

#1 – January 27th – Winkler Flyers 3 Portage Terriers 1 

Watch the Winkler Flyers battle against the visiting Portage Terriers, scoring a huge short-handed goal during a late 6 on 3 Portage power-play to pick up an important victory.

#2 – November 24th – Dauphin Kings 6 Winkler Flyers 5 (OT)

A spirited game between the Flyers and Kings, which included a good old fashioned line brawl in the second period, followed by a huge third period comeback which earned the Flyers a single point and forced overtime.

#3 – February 29th – Winkler Flyers 6 Selkirk Steelers 0

In the last game of the regular season, the Flyers dominated the visiting Steelers, scoring twice in the first six minutes and putting the game away with three power-play goals in the third. Dorrin Luding earned the shutout in front of nearly 1200 fans at the Winkler Rec Complex.

#4 – November 11th – Winkler Flyers 6 Steinbach Pistons 3

Watch Nathan Poolman and the rest of the Flyers, beat the Pistons in Steinbach for the first time in years. This total team effort was also the Flyers’ third game in four days, which also included a trip to OCN.

#5 – February 22nd – Winkler Flyers 5 Waywayseecappo Wolverines 1

Another entertaining game featuring some great physical play, fights and goals. Jayden McCarthy led the way with three assists for the Flyers.

#6 – November 19th – Winkler Flyers 7 Selkirk Steelers 4

Flyers’ leading scorer Jayden McCarthy scores three times and adds an assist as the Flyers soar past the visiting Selkirk Steelers.

#7 – December 14 – Winkler Flyers 8 Dauphin Kings 2

Trailing the visiting Dauphin Kings 2-1 early in the third period, the Flyers would score seven goals in just over eight minutes to pick up the win.

#8 – December 20 – Winkler Flyers 2 Steinbach Pistons 1 (SO)

Dorrin Luding made 61 saves as the Flyers beat the first place Steinbach Pistons 2-1 in a shoot out.

#9 – January 14th – Winkler Flyers 3 Steinbach Pistons 2 (OT)

The Flyers received a power-play goal from Jayden McCarthy late in regulation and a power-play goal from Sulivan Shortreed in overtime as the Orange and Black earned another big victory against Steinbach.

#10 – January 24th – Winkler Flyers 3 Selkirk Steelers 2 (OT)

A thrilling game in Selkirk which saw Nathan Poolman tie it up late in regulation before Drake Burgin wins it in overtime.
