Winkler Flyers vs. Neepawa Titans October 21st

The Winkler Flyers faced off against the visiting Neepawa Titans, Tuesday night at the Meridian Exhibition Centre. The Flyers managed to get the drop on the Titans early putting up 6 goals, and stringing together some valuable points in the process.

Coming off a win on Sunday against Dauphin, the Flyers seem to be trending in the right direction. Noah Stott scored his first as a Flyer 3 minutes into the contest. Neepawa tied the game on the power play midway through the second, but Wallace and George both netted goals before the first buzzer to give the Flyers a 3-1 lead going into the intermission. The 2nd period saw the special teams go to work with two more power play goals from George and Gudmundson. Midway through the 3rd period Neepawa scored back to back goals to bring them within 2 of the Flyers, but couldn’t manage the comeback. Jacob Michelson buried a shot into the empty net with a minute and a half left to seal the 2 points for the Flyers.

Tanner George’s 2 power play goals, and assist scored him the JR Bearing Player of the Game!

The Flyers head on the road this weekend in a triple header – Swan Valley – Friday, Swan Valley – Saturday, Dauphin – Sunday.
