The Flyers made the voyage to Winnipeg for a Saturday night match up with the Monarchs. On the line was a big 2 points and a chance to clinch a playoff spot.

Winkler looked to dominate this one as they got off to a good start thanks to a goal from Will Lyons 4:55 into the first period. Nik Gudmundson made his return to the lineup and immediately found the back of the net for his 29th goal of the season, while Liam Carlone and Rhylan Baxter (PP) helped the Flyers to a 4-0 lead after the 1st.
The Flyers picked up where they left off in the first, adding 3 more tallies thanks to Liam Carlone’s second of the game, an Ethan MacTavish marker near the midway point of the frame and a Trevor Dalton power play marker. Winkler was outshooting the Monarchs 33-15 after 2 periods of play and held the lead at 7-0.
Kade Stringer scored the only goal of the third while Liam Ernst notched another shutout with a 21 save performance in a 8-0 win for the Flyers. With the win, Winkler punches their ticket to the Turnbull Cup playoffs!!


The Flyers have a quick turnaround as they are back home to face the Winnipeg Blues tonight at the Meridian Exhibition Centre.
