WINKLER SIGNS TWO FORWARDS AS CLUB BEGINS TO TAKE SHAPE

The Orange and Black have added two more forwards to the fold with the signings of Chase Fincaryk (97) and Nicholas Labossiere (98) for the upcoming season. Both Winnipeg natives have had considerable success in both the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League and the Winnipeg High School Hockey League.

Labossiere is a 17 year old centre from Winnipeg who played this past season with the Winnipeg Wild of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. In 27 regular season games played, he recorded 21 points (8 goals – 13 assists) and 33 penalty minutes. He joined the Flyers for three games in 14-15, chipping in with two points (1 goal – 1 assist). Labossiere is a 5’8”, 165lbs forward who brings a lot of skill and vision to the club. This hard working player was the Flyers’ first selection in the 2013 MJHL Bantam Draft.

Fincaryk is a hard working, 18 year old skater who can play all three forward positions. The 6’0”, 172lbs Winnipeg product played 21 regular season games with Miles Macdonell Collegiate this season recording 48 points (32 goals – 16 assists) and 21 penalty minutes. He AP’d in four games with the Flyers this past season. Fincaryk had 35 points (14 goals – 21 assists) in 43 games played with the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League’s Winnipeg Thrashers during the 2013-2014 season. Fincaryk brings a great work ethic and a valuable skill set to the Flyers’ forward unit.

The Flyers would like to officially welcome Chase and Nicholas and their families to the organization and look forward to seeing them on the ice this fall.
