LAST YEARS TEAM MVP EARNS SCHOLARSHIP TO UST IN MINNESOTA - MAY 8 |
Winkler Flyers defenseman Steve Sorensen will be playing next season at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. The graduating assistant captain has accepted a scholarship from UST, who plays in the MIAC (Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) in NCAA Div. III Men's Hockey.

WATERFIELD PLANS TO FURTHER HIS HOCKEY CAREER IN ALBERTA - APRIL 21 |
Graduating Winkler Flyers defenseman Sam Waterfield has earned a scholarship to play for the Portage Voyageurs for the 2012-2013 season. In 31 games played this past season, the Victoria, BC native recorded 19 regular season points (10 goals, 9 assists) and two playoff points.

It was a weekend of fierce competition as 108 Flyer hopefuls took part in the annual Winkler Flyers Spring Camp. Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson and his staff were tremendously pleased with the level of play during the two day camp.
