Flyers Sign Twins Connor and Cooper McClure to Letters of Intent

We have some more exciting news for Flyers fans! The Winkler Flyers have signed twins Connor and Cooper McClure to letters of intent for the 2022-23 MJHL season.

Connor and Cooper are from Duluth Minnesota where they played out their senior year for the Duluth-Denfeld Hunters in the Minnesota State High School League.

They both had very successful seasons as Connor scored 26 goals and 31 assists in 27 games played for a total of 57 points. Cooper scored 25 goals and 20 assists for 45 points in 27 games played.
Both brothers are thrilled to be joining the Winkler Flyers.

“It’s only six hours away from home, so parents and family can come visit whenever they want,” said Connor.

Cooper added “I would say the coaches too, how much effort they put in talking to us, felt really nice.”

General Manager and head coach Justin Falk had this to say about the McClure Brothers.

"To add two quality young men like Connor and Cooper to our program for next season is an exciting day for the Winkler Flyers Organization, fan base and community. The level of speed and skill that each of them play at and the determination to go to the hard areas will prove vital in their success and development. We welcome Connor, Cooper and the rest of their family to Winkler!"

The Winkler Flyers scouting staff have been extremely impressed with the McClure brothers after watching them play this year.

“Bringing in two kids with the skill set and work ethic that Connor and Cooper have is going to be a huge part of our program for the next 3 years that we are extremely excited about. Both kids have a bundle of skill and speed that will be fun to watch over the next couple years on top of there compete level which is as good as it comes. Watching these two play all year has been exciting to see them grow as players and seeing the way they handle themselves on and off the ice was an easy decision to recruit them to come to Winkler. After spending time with Connor and Cooper and getting to meet their family we knew right away as a staff that these two are perfect for what we’re trying to build here in Winkler. We want good players, and we also want good people that are a good fit for around the community and these two check both boxes.”

The Winkler Flyers are excited to have two brothers from Minnesota that can put the puck in the net join our organization. Welcome to Winkler Connor and Cooper!
