Winkler Flyers vs. Dauphin Kings October 19th

The Winkler Flyers hosted the Dauphin Kings on Sunday night at the Meridian Exhibition Centre, putting together a confident, focused performance as they looked to get back in the win column.

The Dauphin Kings sit atop the MGEU West division standings with 14 points, a true test for the Flyers who are looking to show that the standings don’t reflect the teams ability. Opening the scoring, Niklas Gudmundson scored his 8th of the year, coming midway through the 1st on the powerplay. The Kings tied it up early, scoring just 5 minutes into the 2nd, but the Flyers regained the lead just 3 minutes later on a Michelson goal set up Oliver Schroeder (his first point as a Flyer) and Thomas. Winkler proceeded to step on the gas and not slow down, seeing 3 more goals from George, Wallace, and the 2nd of the game for Gudmundson.

Gudmundson’s 3 point earned him top marks as the JR Bearing Player of the Game!

The Flyers are back at it again at home on Tuesday October 21st against the Neepawa Titans!
