2022 First Overall Draft Pick Signs Letter Of Intent

The Winkler Flyers have signed 2022 first overall draft pick Marek Miller to a letter of intent for the 2023-24 season.

Miller was selected by the Flyers first overall in the 2022 MJHL Entry Draft.

He currently plays with the Pembina Valley Hawks in the Manitoba AAA U18 Hockey League. Through 22 games Miller has scored 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points.

“Feels awesome, no place I’d rather be than Winkler, I’ve been looking forward to this for awhile now” said Miller about signing his letter of intent. “Just a fun atmosphere with all the guys, I love being here and being a part of this”

General Manager and Head Coach Justin Falk had this to say about Miller “We are excited to have Marek continue his development in Winkler. Marek brings a dynamic edge to his game with his high level of compete, vision and playmaking ability. He will undoubtly be a player that impacts this organization as we continue to in our developmental model. We officially welcome Marek and his family to Winkler.”

Miller talked about what he’s learned about the organization in the couple games he’s been up with the club. “Hard work pays off, everybody in that room works hard, and it shows in the standings”
