The Winkler Flyers have made a trade leading up to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League Bantam Draft, acquiring the 1st overall selection from the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in exchange the Flyers 1st round pick (7th overall) and the Flyers 6th round selection in 2018.
The Bantam Draft is a very important part of building competitive teams for down the road, with many key members of the Winkler Flyers organization being acquired through the draft over the last few years. Tyler Jubenvill (2014 – Round 1), Coltyn Bates (2012 – Round 6), Scott Gall (2011 – Round 2) and Tristan Keck (2010 – Round 3) are just a few of the key players that the Flyers have drafted in recent memory.
The last time the Flyers held the 1st overall pick in the MJHL Bantam Draft was back in 2007 which they used to take Morden native Jordan Neduzak who went on to play nearly five seasons in Winkler.
The 2018 Manitoba Junior Hockey League Bantam Draft will begin at 9am on Sunday, June 3rd. More information, including a link to the live draft and other information on how you can follow along will be posted leading up to the draft.
