Flyers Add Forward Tanner George With Letter Of Intent

The Winkler Flyers are excited to announce that the club has signed Tanner George (’05) to a Letter of Intent to play with the Orange and Black in 2023-24.

George, a 6’2 183lb 18-year-old Roseau, Minnesota product is with the Roseau Rams out of the USHS in Minnesota this season, where he has 16 goals and 16 assists for 32 points in 18 games played.

“Growing up playing hockey is everything you could dream of, you can hop in the ice whenever you want, the rink is open 24/7. Playing in Roseau is amazing, you play with the same kids all the way through and the chemistry you build is unbelievable.” George said about growing up and playing hockey in Roseau.

George spoke on being signed to a letter of intent with the Winkler Flyers “I am so thankful for the opportunity to sign with the Winkler Flyers, I know that the coaches are top notch and the team is solid.”

“It’s an exciting day for our organization, having Tanner commit for next season is super exciting for our program. Flyers fans can expect to see Tanner impacting games as he has the ability to take over with his size, skill and skating. Tanner is a big kid that is very well rounded in all areas of his game and he will translate quickly to junior hockey under our coaching staff and the way we want to play. Tanner comes from a really good family and a great program out of Roseau.” Assistant GM & Coach Coltyn Bates is thrilled to have George wear Orange and Black.

“I want to continue my hockey career with one of the top teams in the MJHL. I want to develop my game even more, and with the coaching staff in Winkler I will be able to do exactly that.” George talked about what he thinks the Flyers will mean for his development.

The Winkler Flyers want to send a warm welcome to Tanner and his family to the Flyers Organization!
