FLYERS ADD SIZE WITH ADDITION OF COHAN – NOVEMBER 17

The Winkler Flyers have added some size and grit up front with the acquisition of forward Jason Cohan (96) from the Flin Flon Bombers (SJHL). The 6’0”, 200lbs left winger is a hard working, physical player who will make the Flyers a tougher team to play against.

In 17 games played with the Bombers this season, the North Vancouver, B.C. native had three assists and 39 penalty minutes.

“Jason will provide valuable experience to our forward group. He is a big, physical left winger who plays with a bit of sandpaper.” Said Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Ken Pearson.

The Flyers currently sit in second place in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League standings with a 16-4-1 record. Winkler will host the OCN Blizzard tonight, looking to increase their winning streak to five games. Puck drop at the Winkler Recreation Complex is 7:30pm.

Winkler sent a player development fee (PDF) to Flin Flon in exchange for Cohan.

The Flyers would like to welcome Jason and his family to the club and look forward to seeing him on the ice this weekend.
