Legaarden Signs Letter Of Intent

Some more exciting news this week as Head Coach and General Manager Justin Falk welcomed the newest product, when forward Jayce Legaarden(2004) signed a letter of intent to lace his skates up with the Flyers this fall.

Hailing from Grandview Manitoba, Legaarden has played for the Parkland Rangers in the Manitoba U18 AAA league for the last 3 seasons. He currently sits in third in the league in goals scored with 35, and 22 assists for a total of 57 points. Legaarden has had interest from a number of other leagues, and chose the Flyers organization.

“When I came down to play those games I had a great time, loved the program, loved the coaches and just really wanted to play there.” Said Leegarden. “It’s super exciting to learn from guys that have great experience playing the game, and know the ins and outs of the game”

Assistant Coach Ryan White says the organization is lucky to have a player like Legaarden.

“Jayce is a hard working 200 foot player who can play any position up front. He is a natural play maker, who has figured out the value of going to the blue paint and he is getting rewarded for it this year. We were lucky enough to get him for a few games this year and got the chance to see him up close and appreciate his hockey IQ, leadership skills and work ethic and that’s what really excites us about Jayce. He is going to be a big piece for our culture moving forward and we are lucky to have him.“

Flyers Director of player personnel Riley Dudar loves the offense that Legaarden brings to his team.

“Jayce is one of the best offensive players in the provincial U18AAA league and I am excited to have him on our team! He is a player that will help us win with his scoring ability, while at the same time taking a step to further his hockey career through the Flyers. He is the type of player we want in our lineup that we can put in situations where he can make plays with other offensively gifted players”

The Winkler Flyers are excited to have such a talented forward commit to our program, and look forward to seeing him in Orange and Black!
