Series Tied At 1 After Gritty Road Win!

Game Highlights

Game Recap – From mjhlhockey.ca

The Flyers used a soft dump-in and turned it into the game- winning goal off of the stick of breakout star Avery Anderson to knot their series with Virden up at 1-1. Jayce Legaarden’s league-leading 6th of the postseason tied the game in the second. Roux Bazin put a rocket into the back of the net on a power play in the first but it would be the only time the Oil Caps beat Malachi Klassen on the night. Eric Reid stood tall for Virden, giving them a chance to get the game back to even but the Flyers were too much to handle on Sunday night. The orange and black upped their pace and physical play. After some penalty trouble in the first, the Flyers played hard but smart hockey, never seeing the penalty box at Tundra Oil and Gas Place again in the second or third period. The series will resume on Tuesday with it now being a best of 5 and the Flyers looking to become the first home team to win a game in the series. Game 3 is on Tuesday in Winkler at 7:00 pm.
