SOFILLAS EARNS SCHOLARSHIP TO UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN

Graduating Flyers forward Michael Sofillas will suit up for the Huskies this season after earning a scholarship with the University of Saskatchewan (CIS). The Morden native had 35 points (14 goals – 21 assists) in 54 games last season split between the Flyers and the Dauphin Kings.

Sofillas returned to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for the 2013-2014 season after playing three seasons with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League. He was a leader both on and off the ice for the Orange and Black after being acquired in a trade midway through last season.

The Huskies play in the CIS (Canadian Inter-University Sport) which is the top collegiate hockey league in Canada. Sofillas will be a Geology Major at U of S.

The Flyers would like to congratulate Mike for his decision to continue his hockey career and education at the University of Saskatchewan and wish him all the best in the future.
