CAPTAIN STIRE HEADING TO PORTAGE COLLEGE IN ALBERTA

Graduating Winkler Flyers captain Regan Stire has committed to the Portage College Voyageurs (ACAC) for the 2014-2015 season. The Winnipeg native had a career high 33 points in 60 games played last season in Winkler.

Soon after acquiring him in an offseason trade with the Portage Terriers, Stire was named the captain of the Orange and Black. In his third season in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, Stire had a career high 33 points (9 goals – 24 assists) in a full 60 game regular season schedule.

The Portage College Voyageurs play in the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference and are based in Lac La Biche, Alberta. Former Flyer Sam Waterfield is also a member of the Voyageurs.

The Flyers would like to congratulate Regan on his decision to continue his hockey career and education at Portage College.
