Flyers Sign Ty Pratte To Letter Of Intent

The Winkler Flyers are thrilled to announce that the organization has signed Ty Pratte (’05) to a letter of intent to play with the Orange and Black in 2023-24.

Pratte is from Moose Jaw, SK and currently plays Defense with the Prairie Hockey Academy U18 Prep team in the CSSHL where he currently has 4 goals and 27 assists for 31 points in 31 games played.

We asked Pratte to tell us about himself and his family, “I have 2 younger brothers’ Kale and Luke that both play competitive hockey along with my parents Darren and Jennifer that have supported me tons along the way!”

“To sign an LOI with the organization like Winkler is a proud moment as they have so many different opportunities that will help me grow on and off the ice turning me into the man I want to become.” Pratte expressed what signing with the Flyers means to him.

Flyers General Manager and Head Coach Justin Falk and staff are excited to have Pratte join the club "It has been an exciting time for our organization getting to know Ty and the Pratte family over the last few months. Ty is a strong puck moving defensemen with great offensive instincts who is having a tremendous season. His stick detail when closing to take away time and space when defending is exceptional and this helps him transition pucks north with a high first pass completion. From what we've experienced with Ty, strong character and work ethic make up his foundation and we are excited to add a culture piece like him to our group. We look forward to developing Ty in the years to come and want to officially welcome him and his family to Winkler!"

“While I was in Winkler I saw what the daily life is like for the players. I was given different opportunities throughout the day to really feel what it’s like to be a Flyer and how each player is a sponge for what the coaches are teaching because they played at the highest level and know what they are talking about.” Pratte described his visit experience.

Pratte explained why he signed the letter of intent with the Flyers “I decided to sign the LOI as I felt Winkler is a great place for opportunity and a place where if I put in the effort and take in each and every detail, I will be able to move on and further myself as a hockey player and a young man!”

The Winkler Flyers want to send a warm welcome to Ty and the Pratte family to the Flyers Organization!
