Flyers Suffer Setback Against Oil Capitals

The Winkler Flyers needed to get things back on track as they faced the Virden Oil Capitals on the third instalment of a 4 game set.

The Flyers started the game with some good work on the penalty kill and ended up scoring 2 power play goals in the first period.

Virden battled back with a goal on the man advantage and had the game tied at 2 after two periods of play.

In the third and final frame the Oil Caps jumped into the lead but the Flyers answered with a nice play down low by Kolton Shindle which tied things up at 3.

With just under 3 minutes to play Hunter Cloutier snapped one past Dylan Meilun giving Virden the lead.

Hunter Andrew potted his of the game (EN) sending the Oil Capitals to a 5-3 victory.

The Flyers are back in action tomorrow night as they head to Virden for some Saturday night hockey!
