Morton Commits to DIII Curry College

The Winkler Flyers are proud to announce that forward Andrew Morton has committed to the NCAA Division III Curry College hockey program.

“My time in Winkler provided me with the opportunity to not only improve my game but also helped me grow as a person. Their hardworking and experienced coaching staff mixed with their amazing support staff makes it the perfect place to land,” Morton said about his time with the Flyers.

“We’re incredibly proud of Andrew and excited for his commitment to Curry College. He’s a versatile forward who can drive a powerplay with his vision, scoring threat, and rare ability to escape pressure. Also valuable on the penalty kill, Andrew plays with a strong stick and sharp hockey sense. Whether at center or on the wing, he combines a distinctive skill set with a heaviness that sets him apart. A pass-first player with a scoring touch, he’s slippery in tight spaces and consistently makes plays others can’t. Most importantly, he loves the game, wants to be coached, and thrives in big moments—scoring some huge goals for us along the way. Curry is getting a player who only continues to get better. Congratulations, Morts!” said General Manager and Head Coach Matt Melo.

We’re proud of everything Andrew accomplished as a member of the Winkler Flyers and look forward to following his continued success as he takes the next step in his hockey journey!
