The Winkler Flyers are proud to announce that defenseman Connor Jensen has committed to the NCAA Division III St. Olaf College hockey program.
“Winkler has been the best experience of my life. I can’t thank my teammates, coaches, families, staff, and obviously the best fans in the league enough for everything they’ve done for me, I grew as a hockey player and person. I am sad to have this part of my career over but playing in Winkler has gotten me ready to take on the next challenge in life, and I couldn’t be more excited about it!” Jensen shared.
“Connor has been a pillar on our blue line for three seasons—steady, consistent, and reliable in every situation. His ability to break pucks out cleanly and relieve pressure enabled us to play fast and transition efficiently. With his heaviness on pucks, competitive drive, and hockey IQ, Connor became one of the league’s premier defenders, consistently trusted with tough minutes against top opponents. His impact on both special teams made him a key contributor to our team success. Connor consistently rose to the occasion in the biggest moments, led by example, and helped elevate the standard of our program. These qualities played a major role in earning him this next opportunity. We couldn’t be more proud of him—congratulations to Connor and his family!” said Winkler Flyers General Manager and Head Coach Matt Melo.
Connor has made a lasting impact during his time with the Winkler Flyers, and we can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes as he continues his hockey career at the next level!
