The Flyers Fall 4-1 in Final Pre Season Game

The Winkler Flyers closed  out the pre season with a 4-1 loss to the Steinbach Pistons.

Jackson Arpin scored a power play goal early on in the first to put Winkler up 1-0, but the Flyers couldn’t keep pace with the Pistons as they controlled the remainder of the contest.

Some bright spots for the Flyers included a solid play of Derek Wiebe and Tanner Andrew up front. Both players used their speed and tenacity to keep the Flyers within reach.

Goaltending was also solid as Dylan Meilun and Reid Dyck split time and faced 38 shots, many of which were good scoring chances.

Winkler starts their regular season in Neepawa next Friday.

Here are some thoughts on the game from head coach Kelvin Cech.
