The Winkler Flyers are excited to announce that the club has signed James Richards (2005) from Port Williams, Nova Scotia.
“It’s a very exciting feeling signing with the Flyers. I am looking forward to the opportunity and being part of a championship team.” Richards spoke about why he chose to sign with the Flyers “I choose to sign with the Flyers because I believe the organization is first class and provides the best opportunity for me to develop as a player and as a person.”
Assistant GM & Coach Coltyn Bates is thrilled with the signing “To add James to our club is very exciting. James is a big kid that has a lot of skill and can move well for his big frame. James also comes with a good chunk of junior games played last year that we believe will only help his transition to our club. Getting to know the family over the last couple months it became very evident that they would be a great fit with our team and community.”
Richards also gave some insight to what type of player he is, and what he hopes to bring to the Flyers “I would describe my play as an offensive defensive with a good first pass and skating ability. I hope to help this team win by bringing competitiveness, offence, and work ethic.”
